What will I be doing?

As the Purchasing Intern, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards as follows:

Assist the Purchasing Officer in handling purchase requests and carrying out basic market research and comparisons.

Support the Purchasing Supervisor by helping to obtain competitive quotes from suppliers to minimize cost to the hotel.

Assist in collecting the Market List quotation at regular intervals.

Support the Purchasing Officer in setting up necessary purchasing reports.

Help ensure all documentation (purchase orders, invoices, delivery dockets, etc.) are properly organized and forwarded to Accounts Payable on a timely basis.

Assist the team in contacting relevant sections in Engineering to help address their requests.

Observe and support the process of liaising with other departments on a regular basis to ensure over or under stocking is minimized.

Learn how to handle all requests and enquiries in a timely, efficient and friendly manner.

Assist in maintaining a safe work area to minimize the risks of accidents.

Carry out any other reasonable administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure that the department functions smoothly.
